Questions and Answers about the Flexi-Grid System

    Q. SUPERVISION REQUIRED:   Does the subscriber have to be in front of the computer
    monitoring this hedge system during best market hours like the London market? I'm on
    the east coast and I can't sit up all night

    A. SUPERVISION REQUIRED:  The Grid system requires very little supervision as entry
    orders are preloaded into a grid which could cover weeks or months ahead. The system
    therefore requires low supervision once or twice a day to see how things are going.  We
    try to trade 300 to 500 pips ahead of the market – this means you only have to take
    action once the price has moved between 250 and 450 pips. It is a slow and steady
    method.

    Q. JOINING A GROUP: If I were to join your 14 day trial, would I be able to start my own
    grid system right away?

    A.  JOINING A GROUP:  Give yourself a week or so to learn the system and study the
    history. We suggest that you demo trade for the 1st 2 weeks or more.

    Q.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:  I use Meta Trader 4 platform,  would I still be able to use
    that system to trade the Grid system?

    A.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:  Any broker dealing station that allows a buy and a sell
    transaction in the same currency to be open at the same time is required. MetaTrader is
    good as it allow a buy and sell in the same currency at the same time.

    The grid system does not use charts or indicators and can be traded from the dealing
    station only. It is nice to visually see what is going on using charts but these are not
    essential.

    Q   COSTS:   Are there any hidden costs to become fully operational ?
    A.  COSTS: The costs are as advertised. There is a course. There is a Trial (which includes
    the course) and there is a monthly and quarterly subscription service. The prices vary from
    time to time but are clearly stated at the time you join.

    Q.   ALERT SERVICE:  Is the Expert4x Grid system Daily alert service an alert or signal
    service used by traders to enter the deals on their respective platforms?   

    A.   ALERT SERVICE:  Yes. When one trades the Grid system entry orders are preloaded
    into a pre-established grid. The Alert service provides the grid structure and strategy used
    to load the entry orders.

     There is also an Expert Advisor available for you to run your own Grid System.
    Q   DRAW DOWNS:   Does Grid trading method have large draw downs from time to time?

    A.  DRAW DOWNS: YES, if you don’t know what you are doing you can wipe your account
    out very quickly. Grid size, Currency selection and trending market strategies are critical
    success factors. This is not a cowboy method it is a long term investment approach.

    It has taken years and many wipe outs to get the balance right between profitability and
    risk. You can benefit for this experience. Don't think because you understand grid trading
    concepts you can make money.
    Q.  CAPITAL REQUIREMENTS: How much Capital do I need to start trading the Grid
    System

    A.  CAPITAL REQUIREMENTS: You need money for 2 things when trading the Grid
    system. This money comes for the initial money you start with in your account and any
    retained gains you leave in your account.

  1. You need a reserve should you have any draw downs (see another question about draw
    downs). In grid trading draw downs are not the major problem as most positions are
    hedged by opposite transactions or cashed in gains.
  2. You need capital to finance broker margins. This is the biggest finance requirement as
    when the market starts trending transactions are hedged and the number of open
    transactions can grow. Most times the margin requirements are much more than the draw
    down reserve that you need.

    As a highly conservative guide we recommend $ 5000 for every 1 lot to be traded in a
    mini account. $ 50 000 for a main account. $500 in a micro account. In retrospect the GBP
    group could have started with only $300 in a 200:1 mini account. The GBPJPY would
    have required $ 2 500 in a mini account.

    Q   BEST FOREX SYSTEM?  As you are promoting the GRID system do you regard it as
    the best Forex system around.

    A   BEST FOREX SYSTEM:  We regard the best system as one that meets all the
    particular traders Personal requirements. So only a trader can decide whether a system is
    best for the trader. Some people like fast systems for scalping, other slow swing trading
    systems where transactions last days, other only trade the US market, other only like
    alerts at a particular time etc, etc.

    Although profitable the Grid system does not meet many peoples trading needs. The
    system is slow often only generating 150 trades a year. People find this too slow. The
    Grid system is more of an investment type system for 1 to 3 year investing. People are in
    a hurry and want to see result straight away. Trends scare some traders away - there are
    many ways to manage trends in our course - one is to take your loss and move on. We
    make so much money before a trend and after the trend that a loss during the trend is
    not serious to us. If you look at the current GBPJPY history (only available to subscribers)
    you will see that we had to take loses many times and moved on - these loses were very
    quickly recovered. Many traders can't make the paradigm shift between daily Forex
    trading using charts and indicators to a 1 to 2 year view using no charts or indicators.  

    So we advise you to look at the system, learn it's principles and only if you personally like
    this investment approach use it. If not, the search for the Holy Grail can be a never ending
    one.

    Q.  TRENDING MARKETS: As with all grid systems trends develops what action plans are
    in place to manage losses?  In your videos you mention some activities.

    A.  If you are not experienced in managing trends the grid system will wipe your account
    out!!!!  Currency selection, grid sizing before and during trading, lot sizing, trading
    common sense, sometimes cashing in at a loss and maturity are critical to the success of
    the grid system.

    The Expert4x grid system is a trend following system too as we cash in the minute the
    system is profitable and start over. Our new start is in the direction of the trend and we
    therefore we tend to move with the trend.

    We are also not scared to cash in at loss, as the profits made in the movements before
    and after a trend always outweigh any temporary setback.

    That is why we highly recommend doing the Trial as you will see the trading history of the
    various groups and how trends are managed. There are 100's of Grid strategies so there
    is not one  mechanical way of trading this system only.

    Q.   BROKER REQUIREMENTS  Can you please recommend a Broker that I can use to
    trade the No Stop Flexi-Grid system  
    A.   BROKER REQUIREMENTS:  At this stage we are unable to recommend a specific
    Broker.

    You need to have a broker that allows Buy and Sell transactions in the same currency at
    the same time. Some don't but allow you to have 2 accounts - a buy account and a sell
    account.

    You broker should have reasonable stable spreads because we are looking for
    simultaneous transactions. FXCM for instance has spreads that vary minute by minute.
    That could increase the risk of the Buy and Sell transactions not occuring at the same time
    or only one happening and not the other. This has not however ever happened in practice.

    Try Brokers that use MetaTrader as it seems to work well with the Grid System. Google
